【Flagship Journey of the British Consulate at Takow - Swinhoe Adventure】

Go on a tour flying through time and space and following Takow's first Consul - Robert Swinhoe's footsteps! Through his occidental viewpoint a cultural feast of land and sea can be had.

A stroll along a historical civilization
Delight in the colonial red brick arch style building of the former British Consular Residence on the upper level and its ingenious slope elevation design, stop and feast your eyes on the grand view of Takow Port, and then walk down the coral stone (limestone) hiking trail where the consuls walked every day a century ago, while enjoying the tranquility and beauty of the exuberant greenery. Next, listen to the stories of the thematic wax figures and their settings located at the former Consulate on the lower level to get an overview of the history of the historic monuments, which will bring your thoughts and imagination back to their golden time.

Maritime route
To Robert Swinhoe, who sailed across the ocean to Taiwan a century ago, the Taiwan Strait was strange and cold. When the ship slowly pulled into Takow Port, Swinhoe, standing on the front deck of the ship, was carried away by the scenery of the green mountain (today's Chaishan), the occasional swooping, water-skiing seabirds and the infinite blue sea and sky, and from then on he adored this beautiful land.
